The day in one sentence

Texas factory visit and Oklahoma rally open the midterm travel push.

Trump spoke to reporters before leaving Washington and after arriving in Texas, toured Peterbilt's Denton plant, then spoke at a delayed rally in Durant, Oklahoma. A complete Oklahoma interview transcript became available on October 2. Eight attributable claims are assessed: one Supported, five False, one Misleading and one Unresolved. Five complete Trump-participation transcripts are indexed; a separate telephone interview still has no transcript.

Documented events, with the limits of the available evidence left intact.

Policy meeting and departure

The public schedule lists a closed policy meeting before Trump left the White House. He answered reporters' questions before Marine One departure; that complete gaggle transcript is indexed.

Limited detail

Arrived in Texas

Trump spoke to reporters after Air Force One arrived at Dallas Fort Worth. He repeated claims about investment, poverty, inflation and border crossings. The complete arrival gaggle transcript is indexed.

Verified event

Peterbilt plant visit

Trump toured the Denton truck plant and delivered manufacturing and campaign remarks. Peterbilt has operated a Denton factory since 1980; the site has also expanded. The complete Trump-participation plant transcript is indexed.

Verified event

Durant campaign rally

Bad weather changed the Texas-to-Oklahoma leg to a motorcade. Trump spoke with News9 before the rally, repeated several economic and border claims at the Choctaw Event Center, and renewed his conditional $5,000-check pledge. The complete interview and rally transcripts are indexed.

Verified event

Return travel

The public schedule records a late departure from Durant toward Dallas; the overnight return to Washington crossed into October 2 Eastern time.

Verified event

Oklahoma interview transcript available

A complete transcript of Trump's News9 interview before the rally is now accessible. Two additional attributable immigration claims were assessed from it. Later reporting still has not established an Iranian link to the FlyDubai copilot.

What the evidence supports

Supported

Real median U.S. household income in 2025 reached a record high.

Trump called the latest real median household-income figure the highest ever. The Census Bureau reports $87,460 for 2025, up 2.6% from 2024 and the highest in its series dating to 1967. This is a calendar-2025 household measure, not proof that every household's income rose or that the entire gain occurred under this administration.

Speaker
Donald J. Trump
Misleading

The United States now has the lowest poverty numbers in its history.

The official poverty rate did reach a record-low 10.2% in 2025, supporting the narrow rate comparison. But Trump's unqualified 'poverty numbers' description leaves out the Census Bureau's supplemental measure, 13.1% and not a record low, and the absolute number of people in poverty was higher than historical lows. The omitted measures materially change the broad impression that poverty is lowest by every useful measure.

Speaker
Donald J. Trump
False

Zero people crossed into the United States illegally during the last 17 months.

Trump said zero illegal immigrants crossed or came in over 17 months. CBP's latest published month, August, still records thousands of southwest-border apprehensions. The administration's narrower zero refers to Border Patrol releases of people already apprehended, not zero crossings. September's full crossing data were not yet available, but August alone contradicts the 17-month zero.

Speaker
Donald J. Trump
False

The administration has already brought $21 trillion in investment into the United States.

Trump repeated the $21 trillion as investment achieved. AP's claim-specific review found the White House's own announcements totaled about $11.2 trillion, including speculative, multiyear and earlier commitments; actual completed investment is smaller. The asserted realized amount is contradicted, while genuine investment announcements remain.

Speaker
Donald J. Trump
False

Trump inherited the worst inflation in U.S. history from Biden.

The Biden-era 12-month CPI peak was 9.1% in June 2022, the highest in roughly 40 years but below rates recorded around 1980. BLS historical data directly contradict 'worst in history.' This verdict concerns the historical comparison, not a claim that inflation under Biden was small.

Speaker
Donald J. Trump
Unresolved

Iran was linked to the copilot who tried to crash a FlyDubai flight bound for Israel.

Asked about an Iran link, Trump said the answer based on what he was hearing was yes while stressing that work was continuing. Investigators had not established the copilot's motive or an Iranian connection publicly; the UAE was investigating a possible terrorist purpose and Netanyahu said it was too early to say. An October 2 AP report cited an official saying there was currently no evidence of an Iran link, but the investigation remained open. The tentative allegation remains unverified.

Speaker
Donald J. Trump
False

Twenty-five million people entered the United States illegally during Biden's administration.

In the News9 interview Trump said 25 million people came in illegally through the Biden-era open border. FactCheck.org found that figure vastly inflated, estimating roughly a third as many by a broad measure that includes detected gotaways and people released or paroled. PolitiFact likewise found the 25 million figure far above immigration researchers' estimates. The number of unauthorized immigrants did rise, but the asserted 25 million admissions is contradicted by the available evidence.

Speaker
Donald J. Trump
False

The Biden administration allowed 11,888 convicted murderers into the United States.

Trump invoked 11,888 murderers immediately after describing Biden-era border policy. The number reflects noncitizens with murder convictions on ICE's September 2024 non-detained docket, not people admitted by Biden. FactCheck.org reports DHS said the vast majority entered before Biden, and the docket also includes lawful entrants and people held in prison. The implied Biden-admission proposition is contradicted; the docket count itself is real.

These full-text records were checked for testable factual claims. A verdict appears above only when corroborating evidence supports one.

Bottom line

Eight specific Trump claims are assessed: one Supported, five False, one Misleading and one Unresolved. Census data support the real median household-income record and the narrow official-poverty-rate record, while the broader poverty description omits a non-record supplemental rate and the absolute count. CBP, AP's investment review, BLS and established immigration fact checks contradict the zero-crossing, $21 trillion, worst-ever inflation, 25 million entries and 11,888 Biden-admissions propositions. Investigators had not established the alleged Iran link to the FlyDubai copilot. Five complete Trump-participation transcripts are indexed, including the newly available Oklahoma interview; a separate telephone interview has no transcript. The contingent $5,000 pledge is reported as a promise, not scored as a present factual result.
