The August 2026 count rose from July, but the employment-population ratio was 59.1%, down from 59.6% a year earlier; payroll-job growth is a separate measure.
The Court's September 25 opinion recounts Justice Kavanaugh's September 8 denial as circuit justice, the full Court's September 10 stay and the full Court's September 25 stay. That supports a count of three interventions. It does not decide whether Missouri's proposed 2025 map was fair or guarantee either party an election victory; the first action was by one justice, not the full Court.
